The Bernard Osher Philanthropist of the Year Award is presented annually by the Network for California Community College Foundations to an individual, corporation, or nonprofit organization that demonstrates a commitment to philanthropy and serves as a role model to encourage giving to our California Community Colleges.

This year’s celebration will honor Carol and Kevin Sharer and The Sharer Foundation for their outstanding support of California community college students and their unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives. Since founding The Sharer Foundation in 2015, Carol and Kevin have built a philanthropic model that goes far beyond traditional scholarships. Each Sharer Scholar receives sustained personal attention, mentoring, and regular check-ins from the Foundation’s team, ensuring students have both the financial and emotional support needed to thrive as they transition to four-year universities.
